Author Showcase: Lauren Stone

Lauren Stone’s “Dropped” left our staff arguing what it was actually about. Turns out we were all right. Sort of. It’s a brilliant story with a depth that screams Post-Experimentalism.

Excerpt from “Dropped”:

As I sit on the floor of the master bedroom, the beige carpet tickling my feet, I can’t help but wonder what that gargoyle is doing above the door.

Lauren Stone

Lauren Stone has previously been published in Menage-a-20, Pom-Pom-Pomeranian, and Husbands and Malfeasant Dogs. Stone is the owner, editor, and publisher of Loyal Stone Press, a small press based out of Seattle that publishes single author chapbooks and a quarterly literary journal, Prospective: A Journal of Speculation. In December 2011 Stone graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University Long Beach with her Bachelor of Arts in English: Creative Writing and a theater minor. When not writing or editing, Stone teaches theater for Stone Soup Theatre (no relation), and is a freelance actor, choreographer, stage manager, and director.
