What is Post-Experimentalism? (Part Five)
by Nathaniel Tower
Today we bring you a definition from one of our accepted authors, Jamie Leigh Haden. We loved her story “VERA” as well as this take on Post-Experimentalism:
Experimentalism – the use of empirical methods for determining the validity of ideas. (Heritage dictionary, fourth edition 2000.) Hence, knowledge is derived from experience. I cannot have knowledge of something that I have never experienced. (Post — to have been there and done that.)
In the story, VERA, the protagonist is contemplating in his mind a wholly different reality. This reality he has experienced in his past, and he is continually bringing those memories to the present surface. It is through this taste of horrific past experiences that creates the monster he hides in consciousness.
